My Norway sketchbook!

I always take a sketchbook with me wherever I go and Norway was no exception ofcourse. Since I was in the passenger seat most of the time, I had plenty of time for drawing the landscapes we saw.
It was quite a challenge to capture the immersive beauty of the Norwegian nature in some quick sketches, but I liked playing with the lines and shapes.

I used brush markers, fine liners and holbein pencils during this trip.

Norway roadtrip photodump!

Together with my brother I made a roadtrip through Norway this summer. We successfully evaded storm Hans, got enchanted by spectacular views, found some musk ox while on horseback, cruised the fjords and hiked several mountains.

It was magical.

I’VE GRADUATED!! 🤩 It has been awfully quiet

I’VE GRADUATED!! 🤩
It has been awfully quiet on my IG lately and it had everything to do with the hustle and bustle around the completion of my studies to get my teaching degree.

But I’m finally done! As a graduation project I designed an art educational product (a CKV-project, for the Dutchies among us) that covers all aspects of my own makership plus my wish to make arts education a more interdisciplinary affair. All this with modern technologies, aimed at vmbo students.

For now, enjoy some screenshots, I will post some parts of the animations I made for this project in the coming weeks.

Spring is my favorite season! I love how the weath

Spring is my favorite season! I love how the weather gets better and the days get longer and my garden slowly gets back alive, with all kinds of flowers and buzzing with bees.

This illustration is featured on the Puppy Eyes Studio calendar in (you probably guessed it) April. I used my Icelandic Sheepdog Ólöf as inspiration for this drawing. She has such a sweet and bubbly character and is a delight to have around.

I had the honor of making this cool portrait! A very specific request in this commission was to emphasize the strong bond between Nikolai and his owner. I was told they often go on adventures together, both close to home and further away.

It was a lot of fun to work on and I think it turned out pretty well. 😊

Another bird in my birthday bird series! I always make them in pairs of two; I will send one of the birds as a present, the other one will go to my wall of fame in my studio. For my mom I made a kingfisher with mainly greens and reds, as it fits their interior. The other (this one) one had more winter-y colors.
